Complete Buying Guide for Deck Box For Edh
Essential Factors We Consider
When selecting a deck box for EDH, always consider the size. Commander decks are 100 cards, and many players use double sleeves, which increases the thickness significantly. Look for boxes explicitly stated to hold “100+ double-sleeved cards” to avoid disappointment.
Budget Planning
You do not need to break the bank to protect your cards. While luxury leather cases are beautiful, mid-range plastic or PU leather boxes often provide the best balance of cost and durability for most hobbyists.
Final Thoughts
Whether you choose a modular system or individual boxes, the most important thing is keeping your cards safe. Choose the product that best fits your travel habits and your collection size.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need a deck box that holds more than 100 cards?
A: Yes, if you use double sleeves or inner sleeves, a standard 100-card box may be too tight. Always aim for a “100+ capacity” box to ensure your cards fit easily.
Q: Is a hard plastic box better than leather?
A: Hard plastic is excellent for impact resistance, while PU leather is generally lighter and offers a premium aesthetic. Both are effective if they are high quality.
Q: How do I clean my deck box?
A: Most PU leather boxes can be wiped down with a slightly damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals to prevent damaging the material.
Selecting the right deck box for EDH makes your gaming experience smoother and protects the value of your deck. Whether you need a massive carrying case or a reliable single box, any of these recommendations will serve you well. Pick the one that fits your playstyle and get back to the table!
